What's New at the Tibet Shop

While the boss is away…

Happy Losar everyone! Holding down the fort here at Serenity Ridge while Sue is attending the second international Lishu Institute retreat in India and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche’s birthday celebration in Kathmandu. Happy Birthday Rinpoche!

What a wonderful experience for Sue and all the others attending! I had the privilege of attending the first retreat at Lishu in October 2009. I must say, India is full of extremes; beautiful people, culture, buildings and landscapes; and delicious food.

Not to mention, the Lishu property is gorgeous! Check out the progress here > The views from its hilltop of the surrounding farms and its own, quaint mango grove are breathtaking. Those attending this trip have had the privilege of seeing the buildings come to life while under construction. Rinpoche’s ability to bring his visions to DZA! is awe inspiring.

While the boss is away there will be a little play here in the bookstore. From gathering details to finalizing new products and gearing up for a busy and exciting year, there is so much going on! For example:

Spring Retreat: Living With Joy, Dying in Peace, which I will not be missing….

Summer Retreat: Teachings of the Six Lamps, which Rinpoche has been offering in other locations around the world — but here at Serenity Ridge you can have three whole weeks of these powerful dzogchen teachings!

• Fall Retreat: The Five Elements — details not yet posted, but from what I have heard, Rinpoche will be touching on the importance of connecting with the elements and nature.

Winter Retreat: Experiential Transmission, Part 4,  which is already filling up!

In addition to the above four seasonal retreats with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche we are also honored to be hosting a visit by His Holiness Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche as well as retreats with Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche and H.E. Menri Lopon Trinley Nyima Rinpoche; see the full schedule here >

This November also begins a new series of Tibetan Yoga teachings with Alejandro Chaoul-Reich, details to be announced. In addition to all these wonderful Bon Buddhist teachings, Serenity Ridge will be hosting at least three retreats and events coordinated by other, outside groups!

It will be a crazy, fruitful year!
